Writing Progress Check - 2025 Recap

Boy, if I thought 2024 was a big year, I was not ready for 2025.

First, let me be upfront. I did not track my daily word totals much at all over the course of this year.

In January, I finished the rough drafts of 2 novels that take place in the same series as Cordolium, continuing the story of Emma and Oron. Rather than continue writing the next chapter or something different, I wanted to spend some time getting feedback and refining my story.

I started a small beta readers group that read through the full draft of Cordolium and gave me feedback on the characters and plot. I also had a chance to join a critique group through my friend’s website, Bold and Bookish. It’s a great resource for anyone interested in writing!

Armed with feedback and notes, I began the long task of slowly reworking Cordolium in preparation to start querying the novel. I still have some work to do, but I hope that by the spring or summer, I will send the novel out and we will eagerly be awaiting some positive responses!

Oh, one minor thing.

I almost forgot.

Last year, I told you I got engaged.

Well, this year…

WE GOT MARRIED!

My beautiful wife and I.

Our celebrity ring bearer.

Just a very small wedding party.

My “small” groom’s party chasing me.

Sorry for the short post! Check out my socials for more wedding pics!

And hopefully, this year I will post a revised version of the opening of Cordolium so you can see how the story has progressed!

Stay tuned for more!
